Mahmud Tukur is an investor and award-winning C – Suite Executive with over 28 years of experience in the Energy, Maritime, and Infrastructure sectors of the economy. Prior to founding Ashgrove Group, Mahmud was the MD/CEO of Eterna Plc, an indigenous downstream company listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). Mahmud Spent 16 years as a Board Member, having initially served for 6 years as a Non-Executive Director and subsequently 10 years as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. At the time of his appointment in 2010 at the age of 37, he was the youngest CEO of a publicly listed company in Nigeria.
He served on the Board of Bourbon Offshore plc (Euronext Paris) for 8 years up until May 2020 as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED), and member of the Board Audit Committee.
Mahmud serves as a Non- Executive Director on several other Boards including Abumet Nigeria Ltd (a subsidiary of Julius Berger Plc), TAF Nigeria Limited, Fuelmetrics Limited, and Polysmart Nigeria, a leading recycling company.
He is a Joint Honours graduate of Accounting & Management from the Business School of the University of Wales College, Cardiff. He is a member of the IoD, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipping in Nigeria and a former member of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping.
Mahmud is a recipient of a National Honour โ Officer of the Order of the Mono, (OOM) of the Republic of Togo.
He is fluent in several languages including French and enjoys mentoring young professionals.
